Donald Holtz, AIA

On being an Architect: “I’ve honestly wanted to be an Architect since I was nine years old. It’s a privilege as well as a responsibility. One of the most rewarding aspects of this profession is helping
clients understand the positive impact their projects can have in a larger context.”
If I weren’t an Architect: I suppose I would be a painter or an amateur naturalist, spends long weekends solo camping. “I need a ration of silence every once in a while”. A student of art history, especially the Modern Movements. “I always try to find something extra in my projects, which is based on a ‘whole is greater than the sum of its parts’ result. Sometimes it’s helping a client understand a new way of working, and sometimes it’s as simple as a delightful proportion or lighting effect”.
